1. Platform Enhancements at 7Search.com
===============================================
Earlier this month 7Search.com announced the release of several major platform enhancements designed to improve advertiser experience. These enhancements include conversion tracking, geo-
targeting and Click-Free, a direct navigation advertising
offering which allows advertisers to bid to receive traffic from
bookmarked and type-in traffic.
Gemma Piscotti, 7Search.com's Director of Internet Operations,
explains, "Online advertisers require programs and solutions that
provide them with alternative sources of traffic, tools to ensure
the highest possible return on their advertising spend and the
highest level of traffic quality and customer support." She goes
on to say, "These platform enhancements have been well received
by our existing advertisers during their beta testing and will
position 7Search to become more competitive in the pay-per-click
advertising industry."
It's good to see the second tier pay per click search engines
responding to advertisers' demands and improving their search
product. If you're finding the big three getting too expensive
it might pay to try a bit of experimentation.

2. Another chapter in The Neverending Story
===============================================
They've been down but as recent events have shown they're far
from out.,It appears that Yahoo has averted a nasty proxy fight
by giving shareholder activist Carl Icahn and two of his
associates seats on an expanded board. After the increasingly
ugly rhetoric being heard it's a relief that there's at least a
lull in the hostilities.
Of course, there's no indication yet of how this will all play
out.
"While I continue to believe that the sale of the whole company
or the sale of the search business is the right transaction and
must be given full consideration, I share the view that Yahoo's
valuable collection of assets positions it well to continue
expanding its online leadership and enhancing returns to
stockholders," said Icahn.

If you're not already aware of this you'll be delighted to learn
that Google has made keyword search counts available to all
through its Keyword Research Tool.
