1. Ah-ha merges with Marchex, Inc.
==================================

Earlier this month Ah-ha.com announced its merger with Marchex, Inc. It said that Ah-ha formally merged into Marchex, Inc., a Seattle based company on February 28 this year.

It also said the merger is a significant milestone for ah-ha. "...we believe that Marchex's resources and industry experience will enhance our growth prospects, help us achieve our long-term strategic goals, and expand the services that Ah-ha offers to our clients."

Will this merger have any affect on how Ah-ha works? The announcement went on to say that on a day to day basis things will remain largely the same.

In the long term Ah-ha is looking forward to using new resources that Marchex brings to the table, as well as developing new products and new strategic opportunities for customers and partners.

I've always had good experiences with Ah-ha in the past. Any problems have been sorted out swiftly and appropriately. Let's hope that with this merger that Ah-ha continues to provide a good service and continues to get better.

2. Free $5 account at Kanoodle - for everyone
=============================================

Last month's newsletter included an ad for Kanoodle that was offering a free $5 account. The URL given with the ad didn't make available the offer as promised, so I've had it fixed and managed to convince the nice people at Kanoodle to offer it again for a little while longer. This offer isn't limited to new advertisers, either. You can sign up for a free $5 account even if you already have an account with
Kanoodle.

Kanoodle has a minimum bid of 5 cents, so you should get around 100 qualified visitors to see whether it works for you.

Go here to get your free $5 account:

[This offer has expired]

(Note: Kanoodle normally has a minimum deposit of $50. I don't know how much longer the offer will be around.)

3. Internet Marketing Conference in Montreal
============================================

It's only 6 weeks until I'm heading off to Lennart's next Internet Marketing Conference. This time it's on May 12, 13 and 14 in Montreal, Quebec.

I'm getting excited already. Lennart always manages to get the big speakers. This time expect to hear from Overture, FindWhat, Ah-ha and LookSmart. Not forgetting speakers from Microsoft, Dell, ICANN, Expedia and the Washington Post.

You will also get the chance to hear professionals speak on pay per click search engines, ROI, increasing sales, customer acquisition, search engine optimization, banner advertising, multimedia, email marketing, domain names, permission marketing, e-commerce, integrated marketing campaigns and usability! *phew*

Probably my favorite aspect of these conferences is not only do you get the chance to see and hear great speakers giving the low down on all these topics, it is designed so that you get the chance to speak with the gurus and have your questions answered.

4. FindWhat announces new advertiser tools
==========================================

FindWhat released news of a new tool this month. It is called the AdAnalyzer and is available to all advertisers.

The release said that AdAnalyzer is a robust post-click analytical tool that gives advertisers complete control of their advertising by showing the actual return on investment (ROI) by keyword and campaign.

To take advantage of this feature you just place a simple tag on various pages of your site and the AdAnalyzer generates the data for you.

FindWhat also just announced another new tool, a campaign scheduler. This does pretty much exactly what it sounds like, allowing you to schedule the start or end of an advertising campaign.

5. Overture UK grandfathering period ends
=========================================

For those of you who have Overture UK accounts you would know that the minimum bid was raised from £0.05 to £0.10 during the first week of February.

The grandfathering period for keywords that already existed with bids below £0.10 will end on March 29. This means that any bids below £0.10 will soon be raised automatically by Overture to be £0.10.
