1. Overture UK raises minimum bid and
launches in South Korea and Japan
=====================================

*** Overture UK

Starting February 6 this year, Overture UK is raising the minimum bid from £0.05 to £0.10.

As when Overture increased its minimum bid to 5 cents, there is a "grandfather" period whereby your bids will stay at their current level.

The grandfather period ends on March 29 when all Overture UK bids below from £0.05 to £0.09 will be raised to £0.10.

Between February 6 and March 29, if you wish to make changes to any of your bids, you will be required to keep above the new minimum. You will, however, be able to change your title, descriptions and URLs for Overture UK listings without changing your bid.

*** Overture Japan

Overture in Asia! I know a lot of people have been waiting for this.

Overture Japan will accept listings in either English or Japanese. The language for each listing should obviously be kept consistent.

Listings will appear on such Japanese sites as goo, Infoseek, Lycos, MSN and Yahoo! Japan. It says this combination of partnerships mean that you will reach over 87% of Internet users in Japan.

*** Overture South Korea

Overture is set to launch in South Korea in the first half of 2003. Korea will be Overture's fifth international market with more than 25 million Internet users.

It has signed a 3 year deal to provide the top 5 listings to Daum.net, Korea's largest Internet portal.

Overture says it will begin accepting advertisers over the next few months and has begun setting up local staff.

2. Espotting signs with FAST and moves into Scandinavia
=======================================================

Late last month Espotting announced that it would make a move to set up shop in Scandinavia.

Though the launch date for Norway is set for Q1 2003, Sweden and Denmark are already up and running with top results appearing on Yahoo! Europe and Lycos, among others.

Espotting's deal with Fast Search will see the top 3 listings appear on AlltheWeb.com in 10 European countries (UK, DE, FR, IT, SP, IR, SE, NO, DK and CH). It says this partnership will bring advertisers an additional 120 million leads every year.

3. Other recent news including LookSmart
