1. Important changes at Kanoodle
================================
5 cent minimum bid?
As part of implementing Kanoodle's new 'foKus' program, it will be raising the minimum bid for all accounts opened after August 1or for existing accounts that choose to utilize the program.
You won't be required to pay the minimum bid of 5 cents unless you choose to participate in the program. Your minimum bid will stay at 1 cent.
What does the foKus program offer? From what I can see it offers advertisers keyword selection, writing titles and descriptions and "carrying out various duties related to efficient account management."
I wrote and asked Kanoodle a few questions about the changes on a couple of occasions but am still yet to receive a reply.
Kanoodle says it has been receiving positive feedback with regards to testing the program and is confident that participants will benefit from the guidance it can offer through foKus.
Pre-Screening keyword changes.
Previously Kanoodle had keyword and listing guidelines that were enforced but weren't screening changes that advertisers had made to their listings.
Now it is checking for things like improper grammar and use of capital letters. It is also restricting titles to a length of 75 characters and descriptions to 325 characters.
Kanoodle says that in addition to enforcing the guidelines when processing keyword submissions, it will be actively checking existing listings.
I recommend you spell-check your titles and descriptions before submitting them. I also recommend double-checking your grammar and REFRAIN From Using ExCeSSiVe Capitalization Of Words IN Your Description.

It posted $4.3 million in net income for the second quarter and has slightly raised its full year estimates. The same quarter last year saw a net profit of $133,850 and $1.97 million for the first quarter this year.
The average bid is now up to 18 cents per click, up 1 cent from 17 cents in the first quarter this year and up 6 cents from 13 cents last year.

3. Overture loses position on Ask Jeeves
========================================
After AOL replaced Overture with Google as its provider of paid listings, Google has pushed Overture out again by winning a deal with Ask Jeeves.
Here is a good article that has more details on the deal, how it will affect your paid listings on Google and what it means for Ask Jeeves.

Overture UK has clawed back some of the margin that Espotting has created in the UK and European market recently by signing a deal with Lycos.
The top 5 Overture UK listings now appear on Lycos.co.uk which Overture says will bring at least 10% more leads. 5 more listings are displayed on each subsequent search results page.
The deal between the two also outlines that the same listings from Overture DE and FR will appear on Lycos' European based sites.
4. Espotting extends European coverage
======================================
Espotting has expanded distribution in Europe by extending its partnership with AltaVista and Tiscali.fr.
Your Espotting listings now appear on AltaVista Spain, Italy and France. That is the top 3 results will appear on AltaVista Spain and the top 3 in Italy.
Espotting says, "The sponsored listings will appear labelled and clearly differentiated from AltaVista's own search results."
Previously where 2 Espotting listings were displayed on Tiscali.fr, there will now appear 20 results. The results will appear under an appropriate heading distinguishing them from non-paid results.
