1. Free Pay Per Click Search Engine Traffic
===========================================
It is becoming increasingly popular for new pay per click search engines to offer a bonus for signing up with them.
For example, OhSpot will put $50 into your account just for creating an account.
If you are worried that your deposit will go untouched in a new search engine, don't deposit any money, just look for one of these engines that offer a free trial.
Dare I say that in most cases your bonus for signing up will stay untouched for weeks, but what has it lost you? If you find that one of them is actually bringing you traffic, it's a bonus, because it's free!
If any of these new pay per click search engines know what they're doing, it may even become semi-popular and you'll already have listings there.
Here are just some of the pay per click search engines that are offering such bonuses:
B2BSearch $100 - b2bsearch.tv
eTRiT $100 - etrit.com
OhSpot $50 - ohspot.com
Ban-x $25 - ban-x.com
BBFind $25 - bbfind.com
4PortalSites.com $10 - 4portalsites.com
CashDream $10 - cashdream.com
a1max.com $5 - PayPerClickSearchEngines.com/a1max/
Bluemacs $5 - bluemacs.com

2. IMC2001: Berlin - Internet Marketing Conference
==================================================
As you may know I have just returned form the latest Internet Marketing Conference in Berlin.
Representatives from Inktomi, the Open Directory, MSN, Altavista, Lycos, Overture and Espotting were just some of the speakers to give presentations.
The best part of Lennart Svanberg's Internet Marketing Conferences, apart from the long lunches and adequate coffee breaks, is the time spent in smaller rooms where you have a large array of experts at your disposal.
This is where I heard things like:Using spaces and commas in your meta tags is redundant, only use one or the other.
In regards to Inktomi, and probably other major search engines, capitalization counts in your meta tags. In other words, you should find out whether your target audience uses capital letters when searching.
Yahoo! only recognizes the first keyword in your domain unless the keywords are separated by dashes (-).
Some other things that were discussed were: How to become an editor and how to get your site listed in DMOZ.org, how to report spam to Inktomi and how to use domains effectively.
I'm looking forward to Lennart's next conference in Las Vegas.

Yahoo! now displays the top 5 Overture listings. The top 3 (premium listings) appear at the top of the page in a "Sponsor Matches" section. Another section at the bottom of the page called "More Sponsor Matches" will house 2 more listings.
