Introducing the new changes about to occur at PayPerClickSearchEngines.com

Pay Per Click Search Engines Update #57

August 24, 2006.

I've been busy since I last wrote. My husband and I have been on the trip of a lifetime to Europe and North America.

We had a great time, catching up with family, taking an amazing train trip through the Canadian Rockies and enjoying the wonderful scenery and sights of the beautiful countries we visited.

It wasn't all holiday. While in Seattle I managed to catch up with some of the good folk from Marchex (GoClick and Enhance Interactive) and they've promised to share some of their expertise in pay per click search marketing with us.

Watch for some interesting articles from them in the next few weeks.

1. Changes to PayPerClickSearchEngines.com
===============================================

We're going to make some changes to PayPerClickSearchEngines.com.

The time's well overdue to give our site a major overhaul and I'd like you to be a part of that. We'll be adding lots of new articles related to pay per click advertising, new in-depth reviews of the major pay per click search engines, and a lot of other goodies.

Let me know what you'd like to see included. We'll give serious consideration to your suggestions. After all, you're the people who use pay per click search engines, and you're the people who best know what sort of information is most useful to you.

What do you think is the most important issue facing pay per click search marketing today? Is it click fraud? Surprisingly, data from the Click Fraud Index indicates that the overall, industry-wide average click fraud rate is 13.7 percent, while the rate at top-tier search engines such as Google and Yahoo! is even lower, at 12,1%.

You can also help by suggesting possible candidates for our Top 10 list. At present, it's a Top 9 list. Which pay per click search engine do you think should fill the vacant spot?

Just don't suggest that we add Google to our Top 10 list. Our current thinking is that Google and similar advertising networks deserve a section of their own and we'll be adding this.

2. Yahoo gets mobile
=============================================

Yahoo! Search Marketing and Go2 Directory Systems have recently announced a partnership which will connect go2's user base with Yahoo!'s sponsored search results.

go2 operates a local content network of mobile, local search and directory websites which can be searched via mobile phone. Yahoo! advertisers will now be able to connect with consumers who use their mobile phones to search for local products and services.

Michael Bayle, senior director, business development, Yahoo! Search Marketing said, "Yahoo! is always looking into new and innovative ways to connect its search advertisers with qualified, engaged consumers. Consumers are using their mobile phones to search for local information everywhere they go, so delivering our listings to go2's broad mobile user base just makes sense."

Yahoo! already offers sponsored search listings to mobile users in Japan and the United Kingdom, and has previously conducted tests in the United States.

3. Kanoodle restructures
=====================
Kanoodle has done some major restructuring, acquiring a domain name registrar and separating its content-targeted ad and search businesses. The three units will be operated under a parent company, SeeVast.

Existing search-targeted sponsored links will remain under the Kanoodle brand, while the content-targeted sponsored links will be separated out under a new operating business, Pulse 360. The newly acquired domain name registrar, Moniker.com, will continue to operate as an independent business unit.

According to SeeVast CEO Lance Podell, "Kanoodle had been defined in the marketplace as a provider of search-based sponsored links. It was challenging, both internally and externally, to get people to recognize what we had become and where we were going as opposed to where we'd been,"

While the operating companies will remain independent, there will obviously be some overlap of customers. Advertisers often buy both sponsored links across search engines and contextual ads, so they will now deal with both Kanoodle and Pulse 360. Site owners can work with Pulse 360 to display ads on their content sites, and with Moniker.com for their domain name services.

The goal of this restructuring is to provide better service to SeeVast customers.
