Pay Per Click Search Engines Update #59
November 30. 2006
There's been something quite amazing happening in my area over the past few weeks. If I drive up to one of the vantage points overlooking the ocean I can actually see icebergs floating past. This is quite a rare occurrence. It did happen previously, long before I was born, but not in such great numbers.
It's been a real bonanza for tourist plane operators. There have been small planes and helicopters flying overhead all day, every day.
But something even more amazing has happened! We've launched our new site. I'll tell you more about it below.

1. Break out the bubbly -
the "new" PayPerClickSearchEngines.com is launched
===============================================
After all this time of talking about it, we've finally launched our newly designed site.
As promised, we've included lots of new features and new articles, with even more to be added in the near future.
Whether you're completely new to pay per click search marketing or an old hand at the game, you're sure to find something interesting and useful.
We'd love your feedback on the new site and you'll find a comment form where you can contact us.
While we were working on the redesign we got rid of any pay per click search engines that appeared to be defunct. If you're a webmaster who owns a pay per click search engine that's been dropped from the directory, or if you have a new pay per click search engine that's not listed please submit it via the online form.
We're also moving our newsletter to a more robust email service. Look out for a confirmation message in a few days. We're giving new subscribers a great FREE course on how to "Double your PPC profits while halving your costs!". If you'd like to receive that just visit the new site and sign up again.

2. Yahoo! ends Grandfathered Bids
===================================
With the introduction of its new Panama system Yahoo! is also making a lot of changes that will have an impact on long-term advertisers. In an email sent to advertisers Yahoo! states:
Important Note Regarding Grandfathered Bids :
In addition, our current minimum bid requirement
of $0.10 will be enforced after an account is
upgraded. This will impact your keywords that are
grandfathered to bids below $0.10.
Obviously, this will have quite an effect on those advertisers who still have keyword bids set as low as $0.01. They'll need to watch their advertising budgets very carefully as they upgrade to the new system.
It's not the best timing to announce such a change, with advertisers getting ready for the holiday season, and there are a few unhappy advertisers making their feelings known.
3. More changes at Yahoo!
===================================
Not unexpectedly, Yahoo! is gearing up towards the final implementation of its Panama ad platform by beginning to make changes to the way information is displayed.
From early December some of the information you're used to seeing on the Manage Bids page will be gone. The Top 5 Max Bids, Position, and Your Cost columns will be removed from the current account interface and the View Bids tools will no longer be available.
These will be replaced by two columns:
1. Estimated Average Position, providing an estimate of the average position in which your ad may be displayed on the results page, based on your max bid and the bids of other advertisers.
2. Bid Range for Top Positions, displaying the bids for the positions at the top of the search results page for each of your keywords.
