Title: Marchex AdHere
Url: http://www.marchex.com
Description: Marchex's stated mission is to provide consumers with the most comprehensive and compelling local experiences on the Internet; to provide local businesses with the best products for acquiring customers; and through a shared commitment to each other and to its customers, to deliver consistent product innovation and shareholder value creation.

It's done this by amalgamating its vertical search properties and other assets into its pay-per-click advertising channel, Adhere, providing advertisers with national presence and local impact.

AdHere offers exclusive access to more than 200 premium publishers, including BusinessWeek Online, The Motley Fool, PC World and more. Target your ads on a site-specific category or keyword basis and pay only for results.

AdHere also offers access to OpenList, which claims more than 32 million unique monthly visitors with local search results throughout the US in all major search categories.

The many facets of the Marchex business model can enable advertisers to develop a complex advertising campaign if required, with PPC forming only part of their complete advertising stategy. Marchex has been involved in pay-per-call advertising for some time, with leads generated from calls from consumers who've seen ads in newspapers, heard radio or seen TV ads, seen ads on buses etc.

You can set up an advertising campaign in AdHere quite easily, with help available. You're provided with an on-screen preview of how your ad will appear as you enter the text, so it's easy to make immediate changes. Geotargeting, either within the US and Canada, or globally, is available and you can specify which sites you wish your content to be displayed on.

They are one of these odd, fake traffic providers. I'm not sure what these companies do, but when they start sending hundreds of hits real quickly - be afraid, very afraid. That\'s exactly what Marchex does. I could not verify or see these in my stats. I also went quickly and installed VisiStat which is a live stat tracker, along with my google analytics, which was allready installed. Neither saw more than 10 hits. Furthermore, my sponser converts true targeted hits like crazy because they don\'t have to buy anything. (auto insurance zip code search) I knew something was up when after 200+ hits, I got no leads.. It's amazing to me that these kind of companies operate at all and get away with this. All we're asking for is real people doing real searches. The only real hit I saw was when either I, or the Marchex Adhere support chat person went to my site to make sure everything was correct! LOL, epic fail. To their credit they refunded me my remaining balance. Of course their not losing anything. My suggestion is to stop looking for the moon and stay grounded when it comes to PPC. There are only about 10-15 honest ppc's that actually work and are honest. The others almost have to use b.s. and/or fraud to generate clicks because they don't have enough traffic.

We gave Adhere a try on a small test budget after our agency didnt think Marchex would perform. Having run our ads on two of the other engines we thought it couldnt hurt to give another vendor a try. Sure enough about a month into our campaign which was promoting white papers and event registration, our conversions where nearly 40% hirer than that of the top engine. I can only speak for my own exp but will definitely be allocating more funds to Marchex away from the saturated market of other engines.
